Will the Trees I Cut Down Grow Back My Time at Portia
Everyone knows that if there's a farming sim with combat, there will always be a stamina and health bar. In My Time in Portia the stamina bar will decrease with everything you do, and your health probably isn't going to be high. In order to survive going in dungeons or even building throughout the day, you will need to learn to cook some recipes that will help you keep going all day long.
It can be a bit hard to round up all the recipes on your own, and you may not even know which ones will be the most beneficial for your gameplay style. To help you out, we have compiled a list of 10 recipes everyone should know and how to make them.
Updated on January 31, 2021 by Jessica Thomas: My Time in Portia has proven to be a unique and beloved series in the simulation genre. The game focuses on building rather than farming and has familiar elements like dating. Players will have to come up with creative ways to keep their stamina and health up while playing though. One of the best ways to do this, of course, is by learning cooking recipes that can be carried around by players while they work. With the upcoming sequel My Time in Sandrock on the horizon, now is the perfect time to dive deep into Portia and experience the various gameplay systems like cooking.
10 Bacon Fish Roll
The bacon fish roll can be gained from cooking or participating in the fishing day event. The roll is best used when going into a dungeon as it will temporarily raise your defense stat by thirty-five points for one hundred and twenty seconds at a time.
If you want to be able to cook this roll on your own, use a blade fish from fishing, meat creatures, rock salt, and palm jujube to place in your cooking pot. To get the blade fish, you have to fish in the Collapsed Wasteland, and for the jujube, you will need to cut down trees in the desert.
9 Bubblefish Soup
The Bubblefish Soup is an easy-to-get item that can often be obtained in the mail after you befriend Django. The recipe is great to use while going through dungeons and increases your chance for a critical hit by 20%.
To make the recipe, you can use a variety of ingredients, but you will need to catch a bubblefish from the Portia Harbor or Somber Marsh. Along with this, you will need to add one of the games' vegetables along with a random seasoning of your choice.
8 Sweet Stew Mix
A useful recipe that you can make as soon as you finish your cooking set is the Sweet Stew Mix. The item will give you plus 1hp for 120 seconds, which can easily be stacked for endless healing while you run through one of the game's early dungeons.
To make it, you will simply need to use one sweet ingredient. Six different ingredients count for this category: sugar, apricot, apple, honey, lemon, and snake berry that can be retrieved from foraging. The second ingredient can be any food item, making this an easy-to-make soup that even the newest players can create.
7 Pumpkin Shrimp Soup
The Pumpkin Shrimp Soup is an item you will have to wait until fall to make, since one of the key ingredients is, of course, pumpkin. In addition, this soup is a great gift to give to both Yeye and Phillis as it will gain you ten friendship points.
The soup itself will give you an instant stamina boost of 40 points. This can be the perfect recipe for giving you the boost you need to cut down more wood. The soup itself will also need shrimp lobster meat, which can be gained from slaying Snailbobs and adding in a random vegetable.
6 Spicy Stew Mix
The Spicy Stew Mix is an interesting item that restores 20 sp or 7% of your total SP value. Because of this, the mix is another easy-to-make and a must for those who love to farm the day away. In addition, it is often one of Arlo's desires, and on a normal day can net you ten friendship points with both him and Albert.
To make it, you can choose from two different ingredients caught through fishing, including the blade fish mentioned above. The other fish that can be used is the Banner fish that can be caught on Amber Island and the Portia Harbor. Along with that, you need to add one spicy seasoning and one salt seasoning.
5 Smoked Fish Roll
The Smoked Fish Roll takes us back to dungeon crawling as it can give the player another hefty stat boost. When consumed, the item gives the players a thirty-five point defense buff for sixty seconds. It can also be given to Oaks and Scruff for 12 friendship points each.
Like the other fish-based recipes on the list, there are two different ways to make the roll. The first is with two catfish, which can be caught in the Portia River and Collapsed Wasteland. The second is by adding two golden salmon that can be caught in the Portia Harbor and desert. You will also need to add one cumin and a salty seasoning of your choice.
4 Roasted Pork With Honey
Roasted Pork With Honey is a simple recipe that can be made in the early game. Unlike some other recipes, though, this is one of the best ways to top off your health while battling. Eating the food will give you an instant 60 points of health and can be strangely given to QQ for 12 friendship points.
To make this recipe, you simply need to collect two meat from the local monsters. Afterward, you can use honey sugar along with your choice of fruit to create this health-boosting item.
3 Mushroom Crepe With Fruit Sauce
Mushroom and Fruit don't seem like something that should go together, but this dish proves that theory wrong. This is an item that you can simply purchase from Martha's pastry shop or make yourself. It also worth ten friendship points with Lee. The item restores 60 health points and ten stat points when eaten, making it slightly better than the Roasted Pork With Honey recipe above.
To make it, you will need to collect one apple, two flour, and one shaggy mane; a mushroom that can be found on the tree farm.
2 Fruit Tart
The Fruit Tart is an item that is both needed to complete a mission and a great addition to your inventory. The Fruit Tart boosts your chance for a critical hit 15% for sixty seconds at a time. If you don't want to make a Fruit Tart, you can also pick it up from Martha for a cheap 30 gold.
The item is also used to complete Martha's delivery quest and worth ten friendship points from Molly. To make the recipe, you will need one egg, one container of milk, and to choose one fruit item to add to the part.
1 Supremely Spicy Spaghetti
Supremely Spicy Spaghetti is a great recipe that you will have to wait a bit to make due to its complicated recipe. It can also be given to Arlo, Remington, and Nora to earn ten friendship points.
The recipe itself will give a huge boost to your attack stat and increase it by forty-five points for one hundred and twenty seconds. To make it, though, you will need to crow the key ingredients. This includes growing two hot peppers that must be grown, buying mustard, slaying monsters for lobster meat, and adding in flour.
